Technology to eliminate plastic waste exists, but without consumer pressure or legislation changes, no large corporation will swap a $0.05 plastic container for a $2.00 sustainable alternative.

Consumers and corporations alike need to learn how to take a responsible approach to the anti-plastic philosophy.

So, what are we doing? We’re choosing better materials now—even when it costs more. We’re purchasing our sustainable skincare containers at retail (not wholesale) and absorbing the difference because waiting for the status quo to change isn’t an option.

In the anti-plastic world, honesty matters: being 100% plastic free isn’t currently possible. Pretending otherwise risks greenwashing. In some circumstances—such as our product refill program—using certain plastics can make more environmental sense. We have paused our refill program until solutions meet our standards for shelf-life stability, waste reduction, and overall sustainability.

At bareLUXE™ Skincare, our promise is simple: we will adapt and change as rapidly as the technology.

• We will Improve: We have plastic items in our inventory (e.g., dropper bottle lids) and we are actively seeking replacements.
• We will Adapt: When a standout packaging option or new technology emerges, we will find a way to use it—even if it means adapting our product.
• We will Inform: Our labels will clearly state what materials are used and how to dispose of them.
